-HTML WARNING- Expect occasional lag spikes (this game not optimized at all) and applying any kind of settings crashes the game. If you download it feel free to change settings as pleased.

NOTE: Um actually don't change the settings at all. I made the settings save system really badly so it just crashes, whoops.

NOTE2: The game crashes after wave 20 instead of going to the credits (whoops) so I'll just paste it at the bottom of the page.

Ricochet is a semi-fast-paced top down bullet hell shooter, where most of the bullets you're dodging came from yourself! Whenever one of your bullets hits a wall, it becomes an enemy bullet instead, meaning that it can hurt you in return! Time and aim your shots carefully to best overcome the waves of foes standing in front of you!

Movement - WASD Keys
Dashing - Space Bar
Aiming - Mouse Cursor
Shooting - Left Mouse Button
Menu Navigation - Mouse Cursor

-HOW TO PLAY?-

WAVES - Enemies come in groups (or waves.) There are 19 waves to conquer in this game and one 20th "Boss Wave!" When starting a new game you can start from any wave you want, so you can always come back if you can't beat it in one sitting.

DIFFERENT WEAPONS - When starting a game you have selection of 3 different weapons: the Pistol, the Shotgun, and the Machine Gun. Unfortunately, due to invulnerability frames and the kind of game this is, the only "good" weapon is the pistol. However if you want to suffer, you can pick any of the others (It is still possible.) 

DASHING - When you press the space key, you dash forward with a burst of speed! While you are dashing you are invulnerable to all types of damage. Beware, however; the invulnerability period is very tight, so be sure to time your dashes carefully!

ENEMIES - There are four "regular" enemies in the game (and one boss, but how they work is a surprise!): The Single Shot, the Rapid Shot, the Multi Shot, and the Sniper Shot. Whilst their names are each quite explanatory, I will now go into depth on each of them.

THE SINGLE SHOT

The Single Shot

Fires one shot every 0.75-1.25 seconds. The shot bounces twice before disappearing. (Note all enemies have 5 health with the exception of the boss)

THE RAPID SHOT

Fires one shot every 0.35 seconds. This shot does not bounce at all.


THE  SPREAD SHOT

The Multi Shot

Fires one three shots every 1.25-1.75 seconds that spread out. Only the middle bullet bounces, and even with that it only bounces once.


THE  SNIPER SHOT

Fires one very fast shot every 1.50-2.0 seconds. This shot bounces three times before disappearing.


OUTDATED - Overall am I satisfied with this entry?

Kind of. I think I managed to execute the game... alright. I would have loved to tweak the difficulty some more to make a more "refined" experience. But It's definitely serviceable. If I were to rank my own game, it would probably be a solid 3/5. I honestly don't have too much to say about it, it's just kinda alright.

Install instructions

-WINDOWS-

Unzip the "zip" file and execute the "exe."

-MAC & LINUX-

Unfortunately, I have never run either of these operating systems, so I have no clue on how to run for either of these systems. If for some reason it doesn't work, you can download the resources and run the project directly from the Godot engine (https://godotengine.org/ Made in 3.2.1 Stable)

Hey, that's a great game! Congratulations! Are you still working on it?

I will probably come back and fix the game-breaking bugs (When the voting time is over,) but besides that I have no plans to change anything nor expand on the game at all at the moment.

But I'm glad you enjoyed the game anyways!
